Up NextA standout at this year’s Sundance Film Festival for his performance as a haunted jock in “Jamie Marks Is Dead,” Monaghan is front and center in back-to-back films in the coming year. This summer he can be seen opposite Meryl Streep and Jeff Bridges in the Weinstein Co.’s “The Giver,” which opens Aug. 15 — a day before his 21st birthday. Monaghan returns to a darker role in Franck Khalfoun’s “Amityville” reboot alongside Bella Thorne in 2015. On the smallscreen, Monaghan is a series regular on Showtime’s “Shameless.
